Celebrating a lifetime in art
As far back as she can remember, Mary Beth Pizzoli has been drawing and painting. As a child, her family moved to Taos, New Mexico, where local artists took an interest in her art. She was the youngest member of the Taos Artists Association, winning a scholarship to the summer art school at the University of Kansas. After high school, she earned a degree in Management, raised two children, and had a career in Human Resources, all the while continuing to paint and study art. Mary Beth has been a full-time artist since 2000.
Affiliated with several artists' groups and represented by galleries in Northern New Mexico, Ms. Pizzoli's paintings can be found in collections around the world, and on the covers of catalogs and a music CD. She has shown in juried art shows around the Southwest, winning several awards for her paintings.
Finding serenity in the New Mexico landscape
After painting in a variety of mediums over the years, Mary Beth now paints only with oils. The majority of her paintings depict the seasons of Northern New Mexico. She finds all the seasons beautiful here, the light unique, and she feels very fortunate to be an artist working in Santa Fe. She greatly appreciates that people are drawn to the serenity of her paintings, often remarking they "want to be there."
