David Richard Gallery is the premier contemporary art gallery located in the Santa Fe Railyard Arts District in Santa Fe New Mexico.
David Richard Gallery specializes in Postwar and Contemporary abstract art and features geometric, Op, Pop, color field, minimal and gestural abstraction in a variety of media. Artists who were part of important art historical movements that occurred during the 1960s through 1980s are represented, along with estates, secondary market works, and several emerging American and international contemporary artists.
The gallery offers a wide range of important contemporary art by established and emerging American and international artists. Although the gallery focuses on abstraction, representational and non-representational art in a variety of media are exhibited. The gallery also presents collaborative curatorial programs highlighting significant works and art historical tendencies in the 1960s through the 1980s. The objective is to create an interactive space for gallery artists, collectors, collaborators and the general art community.
David Richard Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. consistently acts as host to various exhibitions and interesting events, such as recent lectures and a panel discussion on the work of Judy Chicago and June Wayne as part of Women's History Month. The panel included Elissa Auther, Associate Professor of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; Janet Koplos, contributing editor to Art In America; and David Eichholtz, curator and art writer at David Richard Gallery. Gallery Directors David Eichholtz and Richard Barger are committed to providing an atmosphere which informs and expands the appreciation of art.
