The Tierra Wools workshop is nestled in the mountains and meadows of Northern New Mexico, just 100 miles from Taos or Santa Fe and 45 miles north of Ghost Ranch Abiquiu. Our weavers specialize in the highest quality traditional and contemporary weavings in the Rio Grande style.

Los Ojos Handweavers offer a glimpse into the time when the Hispanic weaving tradition maintained village artisans through long cold winters. The artisans at Tierra Wools are the living link between these generations ensuring that weaving, wool growing and sheepherding preserve our land and culture. Our tapestry weavers draw inspiration from design elements in the old Rio Grande blankets to create entirely original, one-of-a-kind works of art. The Tierra Wools showroom and workshop are located in a century-old mercantile building in historic Los Ojos. Here the public is invited to browse through a large selection of handwoven creations, wool yarns and supplies.

Guest House and weaving school
Our casita suites with kitchens are available for relaxing stays of a day, week or month. We also offer various one to five day weaving, spinning and dyeing classes taught throughout the year.

Hand-dyed colors in our yarns and weavings are created in dye pots by our expert artisans on-site. The exclusive use of this colorfast palette, combined with natural fleece colors, add to the unique quality of Tierra Wools weavings.
